Abstract
859,646. Fibre sheet materials. JACKSONS' MILLBOARD & FIBRE CO. Ltd. Sept. 23, 1959 [Sept. 24, 1958], No. 30536/58. Class 96. To produce sheet material from fibre pulp as a continuous process, a number of layers of fibre having particular characteristics are wound on to a " making " or mandrel roll after which a further number of layers of fibre having different characteristics are wound thereover to form a compact sheet without the need of any intervening adhesive. In the form shown chests a, b contain different pulp supplies which are fed through coupled alternatelyoperated valves c, d to mixing chambers m, n to be diluted with water from a tank k and fed to separate breastboxes p, q over breastboards r, s on to a Fourdrinier wire j. The fibre layer is picked up by a couch roll u and passes along a felt conveyer belt v, running over rollers w to the making roll x. In another form the making roll is fed directly from the wire j. In another, the chests a, b feed a common mixing box which supplies a single breastbox. The sheet may be built up from more than two different kinds of layers.
