Abstract

820,135. Protective cut-out arrangements. MASCHINEKFABRIK OERLIKON. April 18, 1957 [April 26, 1956], No. 12780/57. Class 38 (5). [Also in Group XXXV] In a rectifier installation in which the neutral points of two groups of transformer secondary windings 4 are interconnected through a balancer coil 6, the interconnection includes bar windings 5<SP>1</SP> of electromagnetic releases 5 which release single pole switches 8<SP>1</SP> in the anode circuits of the rectifiers 7 in the event of a backfire. Each switch 8<SP>1</SP> may have a closing coil 11, a holding coil 10, an armature A, a movable core B and a fixed core. When a switch is released, the armature is moved from the full line position to the dotted line position, Fig. 2, and to reclose the switch it is necessary to de-energize coil 11 so that the core B drops on to the armature A and enables the coil 10 to hold the armature. On re-energizing the coil 11 the core B together with the armature A are raised to close the switch.
