Abstract
818,889. Telemotor systems. GLEASON WORKS. July 1, 1957 [July 2, 1956], No. 4683/59. Divided out of 818,888, [Group XXII]. Class 69 (2). An hydraulic system comprises a transmitter 1 connected by lines 13, 14 to a receiver 16. The displacement of the receiver is greater than that of the transmitter, and at the end of a stroke of the transmitter piston 2 a reduced portion of the piston-rod opens a port 5 which is connected to a pump 7, and the stroke of the receiver piston 15 is completed by liquid supplied by the pump. Liquid displaced from the exhaust side of piston 15 during this terminal, portion of the stroke passes through a port 17 which is uncovered by piston 2 in its end position, and through a relief valve 18 to exhaust. Back pressure maintained by valve 18 serves to check the stroke of piston 15. At the end of its stroke piston 15 uncovers a port 19 or 20 and liquid from the pump passes through this port and a relief valve 21 to exhaust. The exhaust flow through valves 18, 21 at the end of each stroke keeps the system full of liquid and free from air. The transmitter piston is reciprocated by a grooved cam 3, and the receiver piston oscillates an output pinion 23 which may operate the gear-cutting machine index mechanism disclosed in Specification 818,888.
