Abstract

818,563. Deflecting coils for cathode-ray tubes. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Aug. 29, 1955 [Sept. 1, 1954], No. 24723/55 Class 39(1). Electromagnetic deflectors in one direction for the beam of a C.R.T. is obtained by four coils, 1, 2, 3, 4 wound toroidally on a ferromagnetic core, the coils 1, 3 and 2, 4 respectively being diamtetrically opposed and connected in parallel, and the two parallel combinations connected in series. The four coils are wound in the same manner, coils 1, 4 having their windings disposed in the same manner and coils 2, 3 their windings disposed in opposite manner. The turns of the coils are in several layers. The four coil ends which are connected together, are in the outer layers. This junction point P is connected capacitively to a point 26 in the other deflection system 25.
