Class 82(2) In a wire hot-tinning system, wire 1, (e.g. Cu) from a supply 2 is looped over a sheave 4 carried by a freely rotatable shaft passed round a guide pulley 11 into a pickling tank 6, tinning tank 7, cooling tank 8, and wiper unit 9, is looped about a sheave 12 on the other end of the said rotatable shaft and led to the revolving take-up reel 10. Thus the speed of supply by sheave 4 is determined by the speed of the take-up reel via that of the sheave 12 and the common rotatable shaft so that, it is said, the part of the wire between the sheaves is relieved of a major part of the tension stresses and higher processing speeds are possible.
