Abstract
The invention comprises 1 : 1-molecula compounds of purines with alkali-metal a -naphthylacetates, and their preparation by converting a -naphthylacetic acid into an alkali metal salt, preferably one readily soluble in water, and mixing this salt with a purine in an aqueous medium with the application of heat. Examples describe the preparation of complexes by adding (1) caffeine, and (2) theophylline to an aqueous solution of sodium a -naphthylacetate (prepared by adding sodium bicarbonate to an equivalent of a -naphthylacetic acid in water). The complexes are isolated by evaporation of the solvent.
