817,447. Regulating flow of fluids. HOLLEY CARBURETOR CO. Aug. 10, 1956 [Aug. 22, 1955], No. 24534/56. Class 135. A hydraulic resistor adapted to provide a flow therethrough intermediate between laminar and turbulent flow which is proportional to the pressure differential across the resistor raised to a power greater than 0.5 but less than 1.0 comprises one or more cylindrical passages 40 in a member 30 in which are positioned pins 41 of slightly smaller diameter. The member 30 is located in a body 10 having an outlet 18 by a cap member 12 having an inlet 22. The number of the passages 40 and the clearances between them and the pins 41 is adjusted to obtain the flow required.
