Abstract

815,598. Electric lamp housings. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Nov. 26, 1956 [Nov. 29, 1955], No. 34211/55. Classes 75 (3) and 75(4) An electric lamp housing 1 comprising a hollow body moulded from rubber, plastic or the like is provided with an open end for the insertion of a lamp bulb, and a closed end which has an integrally moulded resilient lip 10 axially spaced from a peripheral bead 8 provided for snap engagement in an aperture 12 in a support panel 11. The lip 10 extends laterally beyond the aperture edges to prevent the entry of dirt and moisture. As shown the housing 1 has an integral internal sleeve 2 to receive a lamp holder, and an integral external cable entry sleeve 13. The open end of the housing has an external ledge 3 to receive a lens 7, the resilient peripheral edge 5 or the ledge being inturned to overlie the ledge and secure the lens.
