Abstract

805,840. Lamp-holders. CARR FASTENER CO. Ltd. Dec. 3, 1956 [Dec. 8, 1955], No. 35305/55. Class 38 (1). In order to minimize vibration of a lamp a inserted in a holder, the holder body 1, e.g. of polythene has a resilient sleeve 6 moulded integrally so that the upper edge of the sleeve contacts the glass envelope of the lamp. The sleeve is of elliptical shape (Fig. 2, not shown) but may be of any shape to correspond with that of the lamp envelope. An insulating plate 7 engages in notches 9 of the contacts 4 to retain them, a ring 8 attaching the plate 7 to the holder body having resilient fingers 10 for snap-fastener engagement in an aperture in a support. In the embodiment of Fig. 3, a wall 6a is formed integrally with the body and is formed with slots 12 and shoulders 13 to make snap-fastener engagement with the wall of an aperture. The body of the holder may, alternatively, be moulded from natural or synthetic rubber. The construction may also be applied to valve holders.
