814,698. Turbine stator casings. SVENSKA TURBIN AKTIEBOLAGET LJUNGSTROM. June 21, 1957 [Oct. 2, 1956], No. 19616/57. Class 110 (3). A stator casing for an elastic-fluid turbine comprises an inner annular casing 3 for receiving the working fluid and an outer annular casing 4 concentrically surrounding the inner casing in spaced relation thereto, both of the casings having frusto-conical inner and outer wall portions which are all directed substantially towards a common apex 7, the walls of the inner casing being slidably mounted on those of the outer casing. Hot gas under pressure is supplied through a pipe or pipes 1 to the casing structure and then flows to impinge on the blades of the rotor 2. Ledges 6 are provided between the walls of the two casings to permit relative sliding movement therebetween and the inner and outer walls of the casings are engaged with each other by means of flanges 8 which are disposed in a plane normal to the turbine axis and passing through the common axis 7. The pipe or pipes 1 is or are in sliding engagement with the inner casing 3.
