Abstract
814,435. Continuous-casting machines. VEREINIGTE DEUTSCHE METALLWERKE A.G. April 5, 1957, No. 11269/57. Class 83 (1). A continuous-casting mould, wherein the casting is simultaneously directly and indirectly cooled, has grooves i on the lower inside part of the chill mould a, and transverse grooves m for venting the gases formed, such as steam. Coolant from the cooling jacket e may enter the grooves i through holes l, or a different liquid or gaseous coolant may be supplied through chamber q. A further different coolant may be supplied through holes k. The grooves i may be disposed other than parallel to each other, have irregularities, and lead into a bottom collecting-channel.
