814,024. Securing knobs to shafts. SIMMONDS AEROCESSORIES Ltd. Oct. 1, 195.7 [Oct. 8, 1956], No.. 30607/56. Class 80 (2). [Also in Group XXV], Means for securing a knob 1 to a shaft 3 comprises a one-piece metal clip 6 located in a recess 4 in the shaft and having aresilient detent 11 engaging a transverse hole 5 in the knob. The knob has an axial recess of D- section to accommodate the correspondinglyshaped end of the shaft 3. The clip 6 has one or more prongs 8 at one end forced into engagement with the end of the recess 4 by a curved portion 9 of the clip pressing against the other end of the recess. The detent 11 is formed at one end of a tongue formed in the clip and can be displaced from the hole 5 by passing a. suitable tool into the hole.
