In a switching circuit for controlling an electrical appliance from two positions, pilot lamps, positioned one at each switch are arranged to be illuminated simultaneously with operation of the appliance. An appliance e such as an immersion heater is controlled by two-way switches A, B, and fed from a supply L, N. Pilot lamps a, c, incorporated in the switches are arranged as shown, so that when the appliance is switched on, the pilot lamps are illuminated.
