Abstract

813,762. Cabinets; drawers. STAG CABINET CO. Ltd. Dec. 23, 1957 [Oct. 19 1956], No. 31826/56. Class 52(1) Cabinets, drawers &c. are constructed from elements each comprising a sheet of hardboard 2 reinforced along at least one edge by an elongated box like reinforcement 11 with meeting edges fixed together by glue. The hardboard sheet is laid out flat and cut with V-shaped grooves 5, 6, 7 to which glue is applied before folding. Gum strips 9 which are subsequently removed may be applied or the fold may be reinforced by wood strips 10. A single flange 12 is provided at the rear of the sheet to which is fixed a rear panel. The carcase of a tallboy may be formed of a single sheet of hardboard (Fig. 15), to which is glued a rear panel 17 and drawers having a bottom 20, sides 21, 22, back 23 and front 29 are slidably supported on guide rails 18 secured to the carcase.
