[Also in Group XXIII] A door or a panel has a core comprising two series of intersecting slats, each slat 1 of one series having slots 3 to receive the slats 2 of the other series, the slats 2 being formed with portions of reduced width 6 which enable it to be turned from the position shown at 2a to an interlocking position as shown at 2b. The slots 3 may be at a slight angle to the central axis of the slats 1. The slats may be made of wood or a synthetic material. The core is secured in a supporting frame and two pieces of sheet material, for example plywood, are then attached to the frame and the core. The supporting frame may be omitted when the panel may have open edges.
