Class 39(3) A strip heater comprises a resistance wire b enclosed in a flexible sheath c, e.g. of woven glass fibre, doubled upon itself and resting in a supporting channel a, e.g. of metal strip rolled or pressed to part-cylindrical form, which is completely enclosed within a heat resisting and insulating outer tube or sleeve e, e.g. of braided fibre glass, having end caps f and d. The channel member a, which acts as a reflector, is deformable and may be bent to follow the contour of a curved window or windscreen which is to be heated. Specification 728,200 is referred to.
