Abstract

A temperature-limiter is arranged in the unheated central zone (18) of an electrical hotplate (11). If a specific temperature is exceeded, this temperature limiter reduces the electrical power of the hotplate heater, for example cutting it off. The temperature limiter is constructed as a Klixon (20) and has no thermal insulation. The unheated central zone (18) of the hotplate (12) is preferably closed by a protective cap (25) through which the power supply wires to the Klixon (20) are passed, with the aid on an insulating bushing (28).
