Abstract
268,840. British Thomson-Houston Co., Ltd., (Assignees of Dantsizen, C.). April 5, 1926, [Convention date]. Resistance coatings. - Grid leaks &c. are made by rubbing a carbon pencil on non-hygroscopic insulating material with a rough surface, such as etched glass. A glass rod 2 is etched with acid ammonium fluoride and wires 3, 4 are sealed to its ends, which receive conducting coatings 5, 6 of " aquadag " or the like. The rod is then supported in clips 7, 8 in series with a battery and milliameter and a pencil 9 is then rubbed on it until the milliameter reading corresponds to the desired resistance. The resistance element is then sealed into a glass tube.
