813,566. Windscreen wiper drives. TRICO PRODUCTS CORPORATION. Aug. 13, 1957 [Aug. 13, 1956], No. 25557/57. Class 138(1). A windscreen wiper drive comprises a rockshaft 16, to which the blade arm is attached, fitted with an arm 38 which includes a slot 37. A second arm 29 is pivoted on a shaft 31 beyond the rock-shaft 16 and is provided at its free end with a bushing 52 which passes through slot 37. The arm 29 is driven by rod 26 connected to the wiper motor by means of ball stud 28. The reciprocation of arm 29 through a given arc causes the reciprocation of arm 38 through a greater arc, allowing the latter to be driven through an arc of 180 degrees or more while maintaining sufficient torque at the extremities of the arc. The drive rod 26 may be replaced by a cable round a pulley which is fixed on the arm 29, Figs. 7 and 8, (not shown).
