813,121. Cable couplings. BURNDY CORPORATION [formerly BURNDY ENGINEERING CO. Inc.]. Nov. 22, 1955, No. 33353/55. Class 38 (1). A connector for making a copper tap connection to an aluminium power line comprises an aluminium body 10 opposite ends of which are formed as hooks 12 which can be crimped on to the line 14, and provided with sockets 16 into which the ends of a copper bail 20 are compressed at 17, the copper tap being made to the bail. In a modification (Fig. 3, not shown), the intermediate part of the body is omitted, thus forming in effect a two-part body each with hook and socket. In each can the area of aluminium is sufficiently great in relation to the adjacent copper to minimize corrosion by electrolytic action.
