810,133. Packages. BOWATER-EBURITE FLEXIBLE PACKAGING Ltd., [formerly AUTOLEX Ltd]. June 17, 1957 [March 19, 1956], No. 8489/56. Class 94(1). A food product package comprises a dish 2 of thin aluminium, &c., having a lip flange 3 to which is heat-sealed a closure disc 4, the disc overlapping the flange and being sealed to a frame strip 5 underlying and sealed to the flange. Apparatus for sealing the package comprises a platform 10 on which the filled dish is placed, a member 11 having a recess 12 in which is laid the strip 5, and a presser head 7. When the disc 4 is placed on the dish, the platform is lowered to bring the flange 3 into contact with the strip 5. The head 7 descends with the platform to seal the closure, heat being supplied by heaters 14.
