Classes 89(1) and 89(2) Means for ancoring a spigot 1 in a hole 8 comprises a cut-out 4 in the peripheralsurface of the spigot, the depth of which cut-out decreases from a maximum to a minimum, both axially towards the base of the hole and perpherally, and a wedge 10 in the cut-out. The wedge may be temporarily held in the cut-out by a circlet of wire engaging groove 12, and may be formed on its outer-surface with portion 11 of a screw-thread. Thus by turning the spigot the wedge is moved axially and circumferentially of the cut-out to anchor the spigot in the hole. The outer-end of the spigot may have screw-threads 2 or be formed with an eye.
