809,818. Rollers. ETABLISSEMENTS BELINGARD. April 5, 1957 [April 7, 1956], No. 11262/57. Class 6(1). A compacting device for mounting on a self propelled skimmer, scraper or dumper provided with rear driving wheels 4 comprises one or two rollers or a set of heavy tyres mounted on a shaft 8 which is carried by two arms 7 fixed on a shaft 6. The shaft 6 is rotated by two arms 11 connected to two hydraulic cylinders 12 which are used to raise the device clear of the ground for transport purposes.. As shown the rollers are lowered until they contact the driving wheels 4 which are clear of the ground. By engaging a reverse gear the wheels 4 will drive the rollers so that the machine moves in a forward direction. Alternatively the rollers may be driven by a separate chain or power takeoff drive.
