807,081. Inflatable life-rafts. GARRETT CORPORATION. March 28, 1957 [June 6, 1956], No. 10161/57. Class 113. [Also in Group X] An inflatable structure, e.g. a life-raft, comprises an inflatable thermally insulating bottom section 10, having a circumferentially disposed inflatable tube 11 with an inflatable thermally insulating floor 12 to which is attached an inflatable thermally insulating superstructure 26 comprising a circumferentially disposed inflatable tube 27, inflatable ribs 28 and wall segments 32. Doors 75, windows 83, adjustable ventilators 73 and an annular ventilation hatch 41 with a cover 57 may be provided. The floor wall segments doors and hatch are constructed of two-ply air tight fabric, e.g. 33, 34 interconnected by a multiplicity of spaced tie threads 35 and the doors have inner and outer peripheral rings 80 and 79 to overlap the canopy wall and form a seal ; the windows comprise inner and outer panes secured to the fabrics. The circumferential tubes, ramp beams 18, ribs and members forming the supporting framework may be inflated prior to the floor and canopy wall. Inflation assemblies 47 and 48 together with valves e.g. 50 may be provided together with boarding ramps 17, water ballast buckets 24, life lines 87 and slings 94.
