Abstract

806,623. Railway brake mechanism. SVENSKA AKTIEBOLAGET BROMSREGULATOR. Jan. 23, 1957, No. 2478/57. Addition to 768,599. Class 103 (1). A brake transmission mechanism of the type described in the parent Specification and Specification 426,779, wherein an " empty-load " mechanism is controlled by a " unitary " type triple valve so that the periods required for increasing and reducing the pressure in the brake cylinder on application and release of the brakes, are largely independent of the brake piston stroke, is adapted for use with a vacutun brake system. The mechanism, as adapted, includes a " unitary " type triple valve 20 governing the admission of air to the space below piston 1a of the vacuum brake cylinder 1, which may, or may not, have a reservoir 1b connected to the space above the brake piston. The piston-rod 2 is linked to brake levers 3 and 4 by the linkage 29, 30, 31, the rest of the system being generally similar to that described in the parent Specification.
