806,466. Knitting-machines. FIDELITY MACHINE CO. Inc. Dec. 14, 1956 [Dec. 27, 1955], No. 38208/56. Class 74 (2). A pneumatic take-down device for a circular machine comprises a tube 11 extending within the needle cylinder and coupled to a duct 16 connected to a receptacle 17 for receiving the articles as they are discharged from the needles. The articles are drawn into the receptacle by the action of a blower 26, the intake side of which is connected to the receptacle so that air is sucked past the needles and through the tube and duet. The flow of air passes within the knitted tube and tensions the fabric as it is produced. A fin is positioned on the inside of the tube 11 to twist the fabric tube as it is knitted and hold it centrally within the tube.
