Abstract

806,247. Gas burners. WILD & CO., Ltd., A. G. April 9, 1957 [April 17, 1956], No. 11624/56. Class 75(1) In a two-piece flame cutting nozzle comprising an inner tubular member 10 formed with an axial discharge orifice 11 and an outer tubular member 15 fitted coaxially on to the inner member 10 so as to provide a passage 16 between the two members for pre-heating gas and an annular exit orifice 17 surrounding the axial discharge orifice 11, the inner surface of the outer tubular member 15 is provided with axially extending ribs 18 which maintain the two members in correct axial alignment. The outer member is formed from a copper tube which is cold swaged or forged on to a mandrel provided with six axial flutes. The end of the inner member 10 remote from the discharge orifice 11 is formed with an enlarged part 12 having bores 13 and a spigotted neck 14 which registers with the gas inlet end of the outer tubular member 15. A flanged nut 5 holds the two members to the end of a cutting torch 4, gas tight joints between the inner member 10 and the torch being provided by complementary surfaces 8, 9 on the inner member and the torch.
