Abstract

806,117. Capacitors: cut-outs. BRITISH INSULATED CALLENDER'S CABLES Ltd. Oct. 5, 1956 [Oct. 5, 1955], No. 28407/55. Classes 37 and 38 (1). A fuse, particularly for insertion between convolutions of a wound capacitor, comprises a fusible element 1 connected to a pair of leads 2, the fusible element 1 and adjacent parts of the leads 2 being sandwiched between and attached to at least one of two superposed layers of insulating material 3, the free ends of the leads 2 projecting beyond one edge of the sandwich. The fusible element 1 may be one strand of tinned copper wire to the ends of which are twisted two lenghts of wire each doubled back on itself, thus forming the connecting leads 2 which are anchored to a sheet of paper 3 by paper bridges 4 secured by adhesive.
