Abstract

806,065. Agricultural implements. JOHNSON, H. C. Aug. 24, 1956 [Sept. 1, 1955], No. 25146/55. Class 6(1). A fertilizer distributer is provided with four swivel wheels 6 which may be locked in the position shown in Fig. 2 for transport purposes and may be swivelled through 90 degrees and again locked for working. As shown each wheel is mounted on a bearing member 5 provided with a swivel pin 4 carried in a mounting 3 which is provided with a U-shaped locking device 8 which engages the member 5 to lock the wheel in its two positions. A distributing roller 11 feeds material from a hopper 10 through openings formed by adjustable shutters 18 or 19. The roller 11 and an agitator 12 are driven from shafts 13, 14 provided with sprockets connected by chains to sprockets 17 on the axles of the wheels 6. The machine is provided with one draw bar for each of the four sides of the machine. The distributing roller 11 and agitator 12 and shafts 13, 14 are formed in two pieces of equal length abutting at a point intermediate the length of the member each being driven by one pair of the wheels.
