563,255. Transplanting and seed sowing machines; rollers. BOMFORD, D. R. March 4, 1943, No. 3548. [Class 6 (i)] In machines for transplanting cabbages, &c., seed sowing and like purposes, wherein a furrow is cut, the plant, &c. inserted, and the furrow reclosed by travelling and consolidating wheels, these are relatively displaced in a longitudinal direction to prevent clogging and soil lifting between the adjacent faces. A cranked axle may be used, or sectional axles, one for each wheel, the inner ends being supported in a bar between the main side-bars of the frame. Grease-cups may be mounted in the end of each axle, and one wheel may carry laterally projecting pins for actuating plant &c. depositors.
