Abstract

805,394. Supplying gas to burners. BERNZ CO., Inc., O. June 17, 1955 [June 22, 1954], No. 17587/55. Class 75(1) In a gas appliance having a gas burner (not shown) connected by a discharge conduit with a container 1 for pressurized gas, a pressure reducing and regulating valve .20, Fig. 3, is positioned in the discharge conduit and means, such as a spring 22, resiliently urge the valve to closed position against the pressure in the container. The valve 20 has a rubber seal 21 which seats on a shoulder in a bore 19 of a stem 12 forming part of a member 2 supporting the burner. The member 2 has a tubular lower part. 11 adapted to screw on to a plug 4 sealed into an aperture in the top of the container and having a bore 5 closed by a valve 8. When the member 2 is screwed on to the plug 4 the stem 12 presses the stem of the valve 8 and opens the valve. The member 2 includes a manually operated needle valve 17.
