Abstract
804,827. Inductors. SIEMENS-SOHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Jan. 30, 1957 [March 12, 1956], No. 3344/57. Class 38 (2). [Also in Group IX] A coil-carrier for use in magnetic amplifiers comprises at least two double-flanged bobbins such as that shown in Fig. 1, the flanges of each bobbin having means, such as the tongues and slots 5, 7, to engage the flanges of adjacent bobbins. Preferably the bobbins are arranged in two groups each comprising such a pair. The bobbins are hollow and their flanges are recessed at 4; in each group of two bobbins the recesses register so that each group can receive a U- shaped lamination, and windings can pass each around one bobbin of one group and one bobbin of the adjacent group. The top and bottom of the assembly are each provided with a two-part cap, Fig. 2, each part covering the lamination of one group and being engaged by projections on the flanges. Adhesive may be used to join the flanges of adjacent bobbins and to join the caps to the flanges. The bobbins are moulded from transparent plastic, and the assembly is sealed in transparent resin.
