Abstract

1,105,294. Transformers. JOSEPH LUCAS (INDUSTRIES) Ltd. 21 June, 1966 [2 July, 1965], No. 28060/65. Heading H1T. In a transformer having accurately spaced first and second windings the toroidal core (11) (Fig. 2, not shown) is contained within members 13 (Fig. 1) and 14 which come together and act as an insulating former for the first winding. There are gaps in the first winding (Fig. 3, not shown) so that parts 16 can be fitted to locate members 17, 18 which together .with inner members 21, 22 act as a former for the second winding. The first winding (15) (Fig. 2, not shown) is located between the inner surfaces of flanges 17a, 18a and outer surfaces of 21a, 22a of members 21, 22. The second winding (23) (Fig. 2, not shown) is on the outer surfaces of flanges 17a, 18a and inner surfaces of 21a and 22a. The spacers 19 and supports 16 may be replaced by parts moulded integrally with 17, 18 and 21, 22 respectively or with 13 and 14.
