Abstract
803,315. Buckles; buttons. PRYM, H. A. CONTA, W., and KOEHL, H., [trading as C. E. M. CO.]. March 29, 1956 [April 1, 1955], No. 9821/56. Class 43 [Also in Groups XX and XXV] A frame for making fabric covered articles comprises a spring metal sheet 12 curved in the form of a tubular or hollow frame at least one edge 13 of the sheet defining a narrow slot in the frame said edge being resilient, turned inwardly, and shaped to securely grip and retain a fabric edge 18 inserted in the slot. A folded strip of flexible material or a flange on rigid material may be inserted in and close the slot. The edges of the sheet may have teeth. A covered button may have an out-turned or in-turned resilient curved edge retaining the fabric covering which alternatively may be retained by a tubular frame 104, Fig. 13, mounted on the flange 102 of a rectangular disc having an eyelet 100. A front covering 112 is also retained by the frame. The tubular frame may be mounted on a flange at the top of a spectacle lens frame or on an earpiece to provide a decorative sun shield or ear guard.
