803,305. Making wrenches. BAHCO A.B. Nov. 28, 1956 [Nov. 30, 1955], No. 36392/56. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). The movable jaw of an adjustable wrench is made by forming a workpiece 7, 8 by dropforging and then pressing it cold through one or more dies 1, 2 which impart the correct shape to its sliding surfaces by plastic working. Two superposed dies 1, 2 may be mounted in a holder 3 with the die opening 4 of the upper die slightly larger than that of the lower die. The forged workpieces are first treated in guides 5 and are pressed through the dies by a plunger 6.
