803,097. Nose rings. WAITE, W. E. June 6. 1957, No. 18026/57. Class 5(1). [Also in Group XXV] A nose-ring for livestock comprises two partcircular portions 2, 3 coupled to each other at one end by a pivot pin 6 having its axis parallel to the axis of the ring, the other end of one portion being formed with an oblique sliding surface 10 ending at one end of a rectangular recess 12, the other end of the other portion being formed with a rectangular catch portion 7 facing outwardly in the plane of the ring, so that when the two ring portions are pressed together the ends formed in this way ride over each other thereby radially deforming the ring, and enabling the catch portion 7 to interlock with the rectangular recess 12. The pivot pin 6 passes through a central lug 4 formed in the ring portion 3 and engaged between spaced lugs 5 in the portion 2. The ring is of metal, e.g., stainless steel.
