Class 17(2) In a method of manufacturing casual court shoes or pumps two half-cut pieces 1, 2, Fig. 1, are closed along lines 5, 6, 7, and front panel 3 is attached along lines 8, openings 10, 11, Fig. 2, being left in the bottom of the upper assembly so that the upper may be force lasted and a sole directly applied without requiring insole, lasting tacks or filling. A fibre board or leather stiffener having a metal shank is provided. A smaller or greater number of openings 10, 11 may be left in the bottom of the upper.
