802,804. Hydraulic pit prop. MASTABAR MINING EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd., [formerly MASTABAR BELT FASTENING CO., Ltd.]. Nov. 21, 1955 [Dec. 8, 1955], No. 35219/55. Class 20(2) An hydraulic pit prop has a two-stage pump providing rapid extension for loading followed by setting under high pressure. Operation of shaft 31 reciprocates pistons 25 and 22 together so as to raise upper prop 17 by pumping oil from the reservoir into the space 50. After extension the hydraulic pressure allows the high pressure piston 25 to set the prop under load. External adjustment of eye 71 controls the collapse of the prop via torsion bow spring 61 as described in Specification 802,803.
