Abstract
802,183. Shovelling machines. HENDERSON, W. M. July 25, 1957 [April 25, 1956], No. 12648/56. Class 68(1) A shovelling apparatus for use with a tractor consists of a hollow post 1 to which is pivoted a jib 3 carrying at its outer end a frame 5 attached to the jib by two parallel links 6 and 7. A bucket 8 is pivoted to the frame at 9 and held in a position with the bottom of the bucket parallel to the frame by a detent 12. A cable 18 is attached to the jib at 21 passes round a pulley 20 carried by an extension of the link 7, over a pulley at the top of the post and down to a winch 17 driven from the tractor. Winding in the cable first moves the bucket forward, until the spindle of the pulley 20 abuts the strut 25 and then luffs the jib. The contents of the bucket may be discharged by releasing the detent 12 through the bell crank 13 and cable 14, which allows the bucket to tip or by operating through a cable 16 the latch 15 which allows a door 10 at the rear of the bucket to open. The bucket is drawn back to the starting position by the cable 22 until the stop 23 strikes the abutment 24.
