Abstract
801,890. Land mines. POUDRERIES REUNIES DE BELGIQUE S.A. May 18, 1956 [May 18, 1955], No. 15588/56. Class 9(2) An anti-tank mine comprising a block 1 of explosive protected only by a layer 2 of acid-resistant material, such as a lacquer or lacquer-impregnated textile fabric, is provided with a recess to receive an ignition device 3, inserted immediately before laying the mine and also usable as an antipersonnel mine. The device 3 contains a fuze 4 which may be as described in Specitions 801,891 and 801,892. A support 8 placed over the fuze is located by means of a rim 2a on the charge 1 and is connected to a pressure plate 6 by a resilient annulus 7. When the plate 6 is depressed, a projection 10 strikes a release element 11 of the fuze. The ring 7 may be replaced by pins which break when a sufficient load is applied to plate 6.
