Abstract

801,818. Feeding sheets. WST PATENTEE A.B. March 8, 1957 [June 29, 1956], No. 7779/57. Class 100(1)] Sheets 4 are separated from a pile 21 by friction wheels 9 driven by a motor 7, the wheels and motor being supported on a U-shaped frame 5 'freely pivoted on a shaft 6 mounted on a machine 2 adapted to operate on the sheets. A guide plate 10, also pivoted on the shaft 6, is supported for movement with the frame 5 by a link 11. As shown, the machine 2 comprises glue spreading rollers 3, and the treated sheets 4 are fed by these rollers over conveyer rollers &c. 15 driven by chain means from the rollers 3. Each sheet is fed on to a table 16, and the front edge engages a contact 18 of a switch 19 which breaks the circuit of the motor 7. The peripheral speed of the wheels 9 is less than that of the rollers 3. The friction wheels 9 automatically follow the change of height of the pile as the sheets are removed, and the plate 10 ensures that the sheets are always directed to the bight of the rollers 3. The frame 5 may be loaded.
