Abstract

801,655. Siphon-discharged flushing cisterns. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd. July 3, 1957 [July 17, 1956], No. 22086/56. Class 26. A siphon for a flushing cistern comprises a U- shaped tubular member of plastic material, e.g., polythene, and is moulded in two parts, one comprising the cylinder 3 and limb 2 and the other the limb 1. Flanges 7, 8 are provided for joining, as by welding, of the two parts, which interlock by means of projections 9, 10 and a toe 12 on the limb 1 engaging in a recess 14 in a thickened part 13 of the cylinder 3, or viceversa. Limb 1 is thickened at its end 4 to incorporate a connecting tube 5, which is the outlet and may be of the same material and formed in one therewith during moulding. Cylinder 3 has an aperture 15 with a brass insert 16, incorporated during moulding, for the piston rod.
