Abstract

The composite profile (1) consists of two light-alloy shells (2, 3) with an intermediate space (4). The intermediate space (4) is only partially filled with plastic foam (5). The part which is filled with the plastic foam (5) is sealed off from the empty part (4') of the intermediate space (4) by means of a glass-fibre-reinforced plastic profile (6) which is likewise arranged in the intermediate space (4). The plastic profile (6) is pushed into the grooves (7, 8) in the profile shells (2, 3). This construction allows the composite profile to be produced easily.
