801,610. Roller bearing cages. BALL BEARING WORKS J. SCHMID-ROOST, Ltd., SCHMID & CO. SUCCESSORS. Aug. 22, 1956 [April 30, 1956], No. 25682/56. Class 12 (1). A cage for cylindrical roller bearings comprises sheet-metal rings 1, 2 connected by riveted pins 3, which separate the rollers with clearance, the rings having inner flanged edges 7, 8 adapted to be guided on rims on an inner race 5, and bent-in retaining lugs 9, 10, at their outer edges, adapted to retain the rollers in the absence of the outer race ring. The lugs 9, 10 are of such width that they are not contacted by the rollers under normal operating conditions. Alternatively, as shown in Fig. 5, the rings have outer guiding rims 15, 16 and inner retaining lugs 18, 19.
