Abstract

990,551. Bearings; securing race rings on shafts. SKEFKO BALL BEARING CO. Ltd., and A. M. LAMM. Jan. 28, 1963 [Dec. 8, 1961], No. 44098/61. Headings F2A and F2U. In a roller bearing having an inclined track, a radially projecting flange is provided at the end of the inner race ring of smallest diameter to restrict the higher diametral expansion of that end of the ring resulting from an interference fit upon a shaft. A flange d is integral with an inner race ring b which has either a separate guiding ring C (Fig. 1), which bears against the adjacent end of the inner race ring b to provide a guide face n for rollers f, or a separate guide ring J (Fig. 2), limited in axial adjustment towards ring b solely by engagement of face m with the end face k of the rollers. The part c may be of a different material from b either being, or having a surface of, a material of lower coefficient of sliding friction. The diameter of the flange d is selected to produce the desired roller inclination after assembly.
