Abstract

800,771. Translucent coated sheets. KODAK, Ltd. July 19, 1955 [July 23, 1954], No. 21618/54. Class 140. [Also in Group XX] In making a translucent sheet, a coating of liquid poly-α-methylstyrene, not containing volatile solvent and at a temperature of 200‹ to 225‹ F., is applied to one surface of a cellulosic fibrous sheet which is then passed between hot rollers at 200‹ to 225‹ F. The coating material may contain a plasticizer such as dibutyl or dioctyl phthalate or dibutyl sebacate. The sheet may be of paper or cloth and the uncoated side may be coated with a photographic emulsion layer.
