800,313. Making extractor. KLEINBONGARTZ, A., and KAISER, E., [trading as KLEINBONGARTZ & KAISER]. July 20, 1956, No. 22608/56. Class 83 (2). [Also in Group XXIII] An extractor having support arms 13, Fig. 1, carried by a cross bar 1 has the latter formed from two die-forged halves 1, 8, Fig. 4, with inwardly facing ledges 2, 3, 9, 10 along which the halves are welded together. Thereafter holes 6 are provided for the support arm pivots and a previously forged recess 5 for the lifting spindle 11 is drilled out for free passage of the spindle, or is threaded. The extractor may be interanlly acting, Fig. 1, for use in extracting ball - bearings 14, wherein the threaded spindle passes through a nut 12; alternatively, the extractor may be externally acting, Fig. 7 (not shown), wherein the support arms are adjustably slidable along the cross-bar and are locked in position by nuts.
