Abstract

800,137. Belt conveyers; pulleys. CABLE BELT, Ltd. May 6, 1957 [May 4, 1956], No. 13796/56. Addition to 697,930. Classes 78 (1) and 78 (5). The invention of the parent Specification is modified in that instead of providing a single pulley to engage each cable run the upper run of each cable is engaged by two pulleys 29 arranged in tandem, the shaft 18 which extends between the two swinging brackets 14 being provided adjacent each end with a beam 16 centrally mounted for rotation about the shaft and formed of a pair of plates provided with notches 26 adjacent each end for the reception of the spindles 27 of the pulleys 29. The return run of each cable is supported on a single pulley 35 mounted directly on the shaft 34 extending between the brackets 14. The shafts 18, 34 are pivotally mounted in the brackets 14 by reduced end portions of the shafts which engage in notches 16, 17 in the brackets, these notches having chamfered edges and the shafts being a loose fit therein. The brackets 14 are mounted for swinging by integral tubular lugs which fit over tubular standards 13.
