Abstract

800,082. Supporting pipes. COAL INDUSTRY (PATENTS), Ltd. June 5, 1957 [March 5, 1956], No. 6838/56. Class 99(2). [Also in Group XXXVI] A device for controlling a flexible pipe 17 connecting a moving point to a fixed point X comprises an endless flexible support rope 10 supporting the pipe and moving round two spaced pulleys which move in unison and remain at a set spacing. The pulleys are mounted between sheave plates 22, 23 and 24, 25 which slide on the bottom of guide channel 13. A control rope 14 connected to the sheave plates passes round fixed pulleys 15, 16. The cable 17 and rope 10 are connected together by carriers 37 and both are secured to an anchorage 35 at X. An articulated plate chain 28, slidable on rails 29 is secured to the sheave plates to support the top flight of rope 10. A sliding carriage 31 on the channel 13 is connected with the rope 10 and carries bridles 33, 34 for connection with a moving machine, to which the free end of cable 17 is also connected.
