800,068. Reciprocating pumps. DISTILLERS CO., Ltd. March 28, 1957 [March 21, 1957], No. 9250/57. Addition to 760,241. Class 102(1). A passage 5 between a pump chamber 4 and the inlet and delivery valves of a pump for liquid CO 2 is cooled to a temperature below that of the liquid to be pumped. As shown the passage 5 may be surrounded by a cooling jacket 6 or the pump and passage may be immersed in an insulated refrigerated bath. The internal volume of the passage 5 is greater than the displacement of the pump.
